Katherine “KteeO” Olejnik jailed for silence

As the Assange case drags on and on, and a large part of the left continues to tear itself apart over the question of whether to defend a rapist who’s done some stuff to annoy the American government, almost no-one seems to be paying attention to the fact that dissidents are actually being imprisoned in the US, not for being rapists but simply for refusing to snitch on other anarchists. This week, Katherine “KteeO” Olejnik became the second anarchist to be imprisoned for refusing to co-operate with the witch hunt of anarchists in the Pacific North West.

You can write to her at

Katherine Olejnik #42592-086
FDC SeaTac,
P.O. Box 13900
Seattle, WA 98198

She is specifically interested in news and information about the Basque region, and reading material related to linguistics and social anthropology. You can read her statement on resisting the jury here. Meanwhile, Matt Duran is still being held in solitary confinement, and could potentially be held until March 2014.

These people are being imprisoned as a direct attack on us. It can’t be stressed enough: these people are going to jail for refusing to grass anarchists up to the state. We need to support them, because their silence protects our movement; we also need to remember that this case is an attempt to prevent the emergence of mass movements infused with a militant spirit, and answer the state’s attacks with offensives of our own. The grand jury is a sign that our enemies are taking us seriously; we need to respond in a way that proves all their worst fears are fully justified.

About nothingiseverlost

"The impulse to fight against work and management is immediately collective. As we fight against the conditions of our own lives, we see that other people are doing the same. To get anywhere we have to fight side by side. We begin to break down the divisions between us and prejudices, hierarchies, and nationalisms begin to be undermined. As we build trust and solidarity, we grow more daring and combative. More becomes possible. We get more organized, more confident, more disruptive and more powerful."

  1. Berisha says:

Nobody is ever falsely accused of rape for political reasons. Men bad once man accused of rape always guilty. Thankyou for bringing attention to the Grand Jury political prisoners in the Northwest whose principled stand has landed three out of four of them in federal prison. Still I think you are kind of a dummy.

    • I’m not quite sure what you mean. Are you pissed off at me for not supporting Assange, or because you think I support Assange?

      • Vanessa Wolf says:

It sounds like it’s because you don’t, and trying to make sarcastic comments about women “lying” about rape for personal or political gain, or for petty “revenge”, as if that actually happens on a regular basis.

I’ve been around MRA’s, I know how their minds work, and how anti female they are, which wouldn’t be so apparent if they weren’t so keen on defending rapists or acting like women lie about rape all the time.

But here’s food for thought, men can be raped too. Even by women. And I damned sure wouldn’t think a man would lie about that. Do you understand how very embarrassing that would be? And to be spit on and told it’s “impossible”, and that you “wanted it” even if you didn’t.?
I understand men face an extra stigma in some respects, but women face much the same trauma from reporting rape, hence it’s under reported for both male and female, and not something most people would lie about.

Now there’s some really weird not right people out there that will kill children by peeling the skin off their bones. But I think it’s safe to say, that you can trust that most people aren’t going to do that, just as most people won’t fake rape.

Sorry had to say something about that.

I’m torn a bit on Assange however…was he imprisoned for rape, or for leaking? Basically was the rape used to rally people behind the anti Assange case, or were they separate legal events?
It’s hard for me to find any valid information on this as most everything is just calling him a terrorist rapist with no real facts answering what I want to know.

If the rape isn’t what he’s been charged with, then I do think fighting against wrongful imprisonment is needed.
I’m all for keeping people in prison that need to be there, like rapists, but NOT for trumped up reasons that provide a slippery slope in the legal realm, or in the “every ___ is a rapist/murderer because this famous guy these people are defending is a ___ and raped/murdered”
Which is especially possible when people dismiss that they -did- do something wrong, if that happens to be the case.

But it’s nearly 5 am, I should have thought before posting my ramblings.

      • Rape is what he’s been charged with. There’s a good summary of the situation here. If he had been charged with espionage or something similar, then it’d be a very different story, but since, to date, he’s only been charged with sex offences, I find it really frustrating that so much time and energy goes into supporting him – especially since this tends to lead to “progressives” spouting really ugly misogynist opinions – when other enemies of the state, who really are just in prison for their political actions, get so little attention.

  2. Angel Gordon says:

Can we get this straight once and for all – Julian Assange has NOT BEEN CHARGED WITH ANY CRIME IN ANY COUNTRY. Obviously Berisha’s remark went over your heads.

  3. Dennis O'Brien says:

i think its clear that his charges are misdirection. The British have threatened to storm the embassy to take him into custody?? That is not common practice. This is a case of international conspiracy of which rape is not the issue. The “victims” are possibly CIA assets. Assange is hunted by the Man and so must suffer for his trespasses. LOL but so sick is the hypocrisy that it makes my skin crawl.

    • Assange’s own lawyer has admitted he’s a rapist. studentactivism.net/2011/07/12/assange-lawyer-concedes/ A year and a bit ago. How are we still arguing about this? Shouldn’t you be doing something better with your time, like writing to Matt or KteeO?
