Matt Duran and Kteeo Oljenik are free!

Very good news from the USA’s Pacific North-West, as Matt Duran and Katherine Olejnik, two anarchist comrades who have now been in prison for five months and solitary confinement for two, have now been freed. However, Maddy Pfeiffer still remains inside, and in need of support, although they have apparently been moved out of solitary confinement. This article from Seattle paper the Stranger has more information. See here for background on how these three people ended up in prison purely for not informing on other anarchists.

In other positive news, the blockade of Birmingham Council House earlier this week was another welcome sign of the fight against cuts heating up, and the Department for Work and Pensions is obviously getting really upset about the number of employers pulling out of workfare due to protests. Hopefully they’ll get even more upset after the upcoming week of action against workfare from the 18th-24th of March.

About nothingiseverlost

"The impulse to fight against work and management is immediately collective. As we fight against the conditions of our own lives, we see that other people are doing the same. To get anywhere we have to fight side by side. We begin to break down the divisions between us and prejudices, hierarchies, and nationalisms begin to be undermined. As we build trust and solidarity, we grow more daring and combative. More becomes possible. We get more organized, more confident, more disruptive and more powerful."
