Cleaners organised through the grassroots union CAIWU will also be striking at HSBC’s headquarters in London on the day.

Other upcoming events: the Birmingham bin strike has been temporarily suspended for talks, but it seems likely that action might resume from Friday 8 March onwards. The National Shop Stewards Network are organising an event with speakers from both the binworkers and careworkers dispute on the 12th. Also in the West Midlands, workers at Universal Credit centers in Walsall and Wolverhampton will be striking over the unmanageable workloads that Universal Credit has led to on the 11th and 12th.

Over in the East Midlands, Leicester Anarchist Communist Group will be holding a discussion on internationalism on the 13th.

Up in Scotland, Edinburgh Antifa are mobilising against an upcoming Scottish Defence League demonstration, with an open organising meeting on the 6th, and the event itself on the 23rd. And to quickly recycle an older list of other upcoming events:

On March 6th there’s a national day of action around the student housing crisis, while the Blacklist Support Group will be holding an event to mark ten years of their fight for justice, with the promise that new information will be revealed at the meeting… On March 9th, there’s the annual Davey Jones and Joe Green memorial in Barnsley, and a benefit for the Goldsmiths’ workers campaign in Deptford. That day is also the birthday of Kevan Thackrar, a wrongfully-convicted prisoner and IWW member, if anyone fancies sending him a card. The IWW’s Incarcerated Workers Organising Committee is also calling for a day of action in solidarity with Kevan and against solitary confinement on the 13th, while the Empty Cages Collective suggest making all of March a month of action against prisons and the state. And the Outlive Them network of Jewish antifascists have put out an international call to action for March 16th.

About nothingiseverlost

"The impulse to fight against work and management is immediately collective. As we fight against the conditions of our own lives, we see that other people are doing the same. To get anywhere we have to fight side by side. We begin to break down the divisions between us and prejudices, hierarchies, and nationalisms begin to be undermined. As we build trust and solidarity, we grow more daring and combative. More becomes possible. We get more organized, more confident, more disruptive and more powerful."
